Typical 1.5–2.0 litre cars. Final quote after inspection.
Oil service
Engine oil, oil filter and a 25-point check.
Major service
Oil, all filters, plugs, fluids and a road test.
Brakes
Pads, discs and fluid, front or rear.
Suspension
Knocks, pulling and worn absorbers sorted.
Battery
Tested free; supplied and fitted if it is weak.
Diagnostics
Warning lights read and explained in plain words.
Mr Tan still checks every car before it leaves
Tan Boon Kiat opened the workshop with one lift and a second-hand compressor. Thirty years on there are four lifts and a younger crew, but the rule has not changed: you see the old part, you hear the reason, and only then do we fit a new one.
